ANDRES LOCATELLI was born in Rosario, Argentina in 1983. As a young child, he studied music at the Instituto Pro Musica de Rosario and was a member of the choir Coro Estable de Rosario.

He studied recorder since 1997 at the Escuela Nacional de Musica de Rosario, where he graduated with the highest marks in 2001.

He then took private recorder lessons and attended master classes and lectures on Early Music subjects (Rethorics, Historical Performance, Mensural Notation) by musicians such as G. Persico, A. Van der Spoel, G. Garrido, H. Rodriguez, M. Form, R. Calveyra, R. Stewart). He was a student at the Amsterdam Conservatoire (Netherlands) from 2005 to 2007, where he studied the instrument with P. Leenhouts, W. van Hauwe and J. Isaac.

Since 2007 he lives in Cremona (Italy), where he works as a recorder player and music teacher.

In June 2009 he obtained the III prize at the ERTA Recorder Competition in Padua (Italy).

He has performed in important concert-halls in Argentina (Rosario, Cordoba, Buenos Aires), Germany, Italy (Milano, Cremona, Mantova), France (Paris, Grenoble, Megéve) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam, The Hague).

He has collaborated with important early music orchestras and ensembles such as Concerto Italiano (R. Alessandrini), Les Musiciens du Louvre (M. Minkowski) and La Venexiana (C. Cavina). He was invited by the famous orchestra "Les Musiciens du Louvre" to take part in the project "Water Music" by G. F. Handel. This programme was performed in Paris (Salle Gaveau), Grenoble and Dortmund (Germany) and was recorded for the French label naïve (2010).

In 2008 he collaborated with the Music School "Le Ignote Note" (Bologna) as a recorder and chamber music teacher.

Since 2008, he takes part in the organization and planning of the Rosario Early Music Festival (Argentina) where he works as a recorder teacher and musical assistant.

Due to his interest in teaching and research, he frequently organises early music, recorder technique and advanced rhythm workshops and courses in Europe and Argentina.
